A powerful image on the wall of the former St. Clare’s Convent in Cavan town. The building, formerly an orphanage, was the scene of a fire on 23rd February 1943 when 35 children lost their lives. No memorial has been erected to the memory of the children. The image was painted
over the same day it appeared.
