John Kelley - Just back home now after Dec's funeral. It was made very clear in the speeches how much being a press photographer meant to Declan and how very proud he was to be a member of this group and win a PPAI Picture Essay Award a few years back. He was a great photographer and had a unique style, clean, crisp and uncluttered. He was drawn to the plight of the less privileged in society and was a very harsh critic of his own work, often binning shots because of a tiny flaw in composition or the inclusion of some small distraction in what were often great shots. RIP to my former great colleague at the Champion, and someone who was an even greater friend...
Sam Boal - Looking through his portfolio he mastered angles and getting a picture that many wouldn't see or know how to create, im sorry he died so young and from those people who knew him best he's one you will remember for ever for his great press work, the association will miss his entries but through his work will always remeber him, condolences to all his family and friends
Colin Keegan - RIP Declan.
